Volume III, is the first of LAIVERA’s ventures to feature vocals by the artist herself as well as ethereal renditions of her own original songs from her latest singer/songwriter album ‘REVIVAL’. This chapter was heavily inspired by ”winds and seas” and the salted stories carried with the ocean seawinds from faraway lands. ”I just thought what if my song ‘RAIN’ sounded like a haunting ocean? I never compose for VENTURES, I just improvise and this time it was fun to take already written songs and improvise ethereal varietions upon them”, the artist said on her Instagram.
The album contains 6 tracks: 01. RAIN (Elina Laivera cover), 02. Thalassographies, 03. Poetry We Lost, Then Found, 04. Helianthus (Elina Laivera cover), 05. Call Of The Wind, 06. Mystic Lights (Elina Laivera cover)
On Volume II, each track is a key that opens the door to a moment captured in time. Keys opening doors is the theme here and whether a door opens inwards or outwards, each track is sure to take you on a journey. From gazing over a snowy river in January to love shared behind closed bedroom doors and from dreams locked up in an old attic to the melancholy melodies heard over misty treetops in October and foggy mountains in November, where you put your hands in your pockets to find hawthorn berries and oak leaves.
The debut album ”VENTURES” was released January 18th 2022 on all digital platforms, containing 9 tracks – each a small story, an atmosphere, a little venture into another world, another time. Each track aims to capture a vibe and transport the listener to a different dimension for a few minutes. From the Court of Love of Eleanor of Aquitaine to the deepest depths of the ocean, swimming with the mythical ‘Murúch’, to meditations on a rose and impressionistic paintings coming to life, ‘Ventures’ promises a true adventure from the comfort of your couch.
On her Instagram, Laivera wrote about the project:
‘This album is a game of tapping into a picture, visual or sound, channeling and tuning into their essence and thus experiencing that very thing as if we’re there. It’s a practice on one’s innate ability to be perceptive on an almost psychic level. All compositions have been improvised/channeled by myself right on the spot. These pieces can not be reproduced live exactly as they are to be heard on the record simply because I have no idea what I played while recording. I went in to have a meditative almost trance-like experience with this record…’
