Mastering High Notes: You Only Need 2 Things! Learn What These Are!

Today I wanna give you a little tip:

If you wanna start hitting those high notes you need to focus on two things: your voice support and your voice placement.

First you need to have a solid breath technique foundation. You need to be 100% sure that you are supporting your voice properly which is by storing the air when you breathe in into your belly and managing it from there with the help of your diaphragm. This will give you the stamina you need for reaching and maintaining high notes, especially those long ones – cause if you hit that note why not hold it for everyone to hear!

Second you need to make sure the way you place your voice within your skull and the way you project the voice is gonna help you hit the high notes without pressure on the throat and without needing to push from your throat for volume.

The ideal placement depends on the kind of music you are singing.

For classical singers i would suggest a backward placement which is very shorty described as if you were yawning, placing the voice at the back of your head. For modern singing or if you need a thinner or edgier sound you will wanna use forward placement which is more front on the mask or you might even wanna go a little nasal depending on the sound you are looking for.

Personally I use and I coach my students to use a mixed placement which is somewhere between backward and forward placement. This placement might take a while to figure out but once you have it down it is very rewarding. Ask Beyonce.
